Lenoir-Rhyne University Offers Permanent CIO Position to Melissa Mullinax

Melissa Mullinax, start up CIO, has accepted Lenoir-Rhyne University’s offer to become the permanent CIO.  The Lenoir-Rhyne University Sungard deal was signed in August '08 and Melissa was selected to become the start up CIO.  In her short time on campus, Melissa and the OIT team has helped the University stabilize the environment, complete a network upgrade, establish 24x7 helpdesk support, and complete the installation of the PowerCampus ERP system.  Melissa has been instrumental in helping Lenoir-Rhyne understand its IT expenditures and where immediate savings could be realized.

These efforts resulted in upgrading the initial contract to add remote system administration and network support services.  Melissa has already attended several cabinet meetings and was asked to help prepare the CFO for a board meeting.  The University is very pleased with the tremendous progress and is thrilled that Melissa will be moving to North Carolina.

Melissa, joined Collegis in 2002 as Director of User Services and was promoted to Technical Director before later moving into the start up CIO role.  In late 2007, Melissa joined the CIO Services group and provided CIO support to the San Bernardino Community College District, Truman State University, and then Lenoir-Rhyne University.  Prior to joining SunGard, Melissa was Director of Telecommunications and Administrative Services at Seattle University where she managed the Telecom department as well as all IT budgets.
